Welcome Dr. Aaron Van Wyk to our dental team

Happy Winter from Sunshine Dentistry!

Over the last 18 years, my practice has grown from an 800 square foot office with three operatories to a nine operatory clinic and now, I am pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Aaron Van Wyk to our dental team as of March 4, 2024.

Aaron grew up in Colorado and loves living in the community of Steamboat Springs. He graduated from CSU in Fort Collins with a degree in Spanish and international studies in 2006 and he graduated from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2014. After dental school, Aaron spent six years working at Salud clinic, a nonprofit community health center serving low-income and medically underserved populations in Longmont, Colorado. During this time, he served as an adjunct clinical faculty member for the University of Colorado, University of Iowa, University of Illinois, University of Texas A&M and NYU Langone instructing and mentoring dental students and residents in the Longmont clinic. Aaron has spent the last four years practicing in Hayden and Steamboat.

Aaron’s wife, Kristen, grew up in Winter Park and participated in the Nordic jump program. She spent several winters training and competing at Howelsen Hill as well as Park City and Lake Placid. Kristen is a Family Nurse Practitioner and works part time at Children’s Hospital and coaches with the nordic combined and jumping programs with SSWSC. They have three daughters.

Aaron plays mandolin in the local band The Little Moon Travelers and can be found adventuring outside with his family, baking, and working in his woodshop in his free time.

Sunshine Dentistry is known for quality of care and high standards of service to our patients. We are thrilled to have found someone who shares the same philosophy, experience, and sense of personalized quality care we have built so diligently over the years. With Dr. Aaron joining the practice, we will have increased availability for appointments. (Dr. Aaron also does some root canals and extractions which will be a great benefit and convenience for our patients) Dr. Dana and myself will continue with our normal practice schedules and Dr. Aaron will be available Monday-Thursday. In the future, we hope to add Fridays as staffing permits.

We thank you for your loyalty and support throughout the years and look forward to continuing to serve you.

Warmest regards,

Dr. Sunny, Dr. Dana and the team at Sunshine Dentistry
